Can a cat weigh 17 lb 8 oz (8 kilograms) and be healthy?

Just because he isn't in the average range doesn't mean he isn't healthy. If he's tall and long, he's going to naturally weigh more. Unless he seems lethargic or uncomfortable or is having healthy problems, I wouldn't worry.
