Did I just kill my motherboard?

I need help, I was putting together my new pc....I have a 750 corsair hx, intel i7 2600k, and a msi gd55 mobo. I was stupid enough to connect cables while on carpet and I think I shocked a fan header and now when I turn the computer on it just revs and the fans spin. Please tell me I only fried my motherboard...the cpu chip still looks fine and I smelled it afterwards and I didnt smell any "computer smoke". Please tell me what all is damaged! The psu works fine...hooked it up to another pc. help help!
