Are these contractions?

im 40 weeks ...Are contractions like in the middle of ur tummy where it tightens and is like a small sharp pain, it actually feels like baby turning..are they contractions or is it the baby turning..they only come when i eat chiili foods..there coming every 10minutes someday i get them and other days i dont..there just in the centre of my belly and last atleast 1min xxx
